A six-member BCCI panel met in Kolkata under the chairmanship of BCCI chief Ranbir Singh Mahendra.

They have short listed Greg Chappel, Tom Moody, Mohinder Amarnath and Sandeep Patil among the candidates for the new Indian coach.

The committee, which made this shortlist, includes former captains Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and Srinivas Venkatraghavan besides BCCI secretary S K Nair and former BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya.

Rajiv Shukla, vice president of BCCI, said the process of appointing a new coach would take another two weeks.

The post of the Indian cricket coach fell vacant after New Zealander John Wright relinquished his position after the home series against Pakistan in mid April.
