But in answer to the actual topic - if pregnancy were shifted to men...

First they'd whine about back pain, hemorrhoids, swollen feet and every other inconvenience that goes with the condition. Then they'd declare that any man who is pregnant must be treated with every kind of medical and social benefit because the condition is a sacred on and no work must ever be done, or hardship pressed upon the man - so as to protect the infant. The real reason would be it's horribly uncomfortable and you feel rotten most of the time and men are wusses when it comes to a little discomfort. Unless it's because of sports or a fight, then they brag endlessly and claim they are "toughing it out" and say stupid things like, "no pain, no gain."

Of course there would be no pain associated with birth because men don't like to hurt either and they have the money and power to do the research and make the hospitals comply. And long hospital stays for recovery with expensive day care facilities at every corner, having all the frills so men would not have to be driven insane by brats and house work, could go back to doing real work, or take fully paid (by the state) leaves to raise their children without wondering how they were going to live or feed them because their husbands were too lazy or selfish or out gambling and womanizing to consider the welfare of their families.
