Starring - Big B, Akki, Priyanka Chopra, Shefali Shah, Boman Irani, Rajpal Yadav
The first thing that amazed me about this movie is how does Amitabh manage to dance like that in 2 songs (Apne Jahanke, Miraksam) at 63 !!! He really deserves an applause.
Story is plain and simple. Akki is the rich spoilt kid of Amitabh for whom working means shopping around for Armani suits. Now, Amitabh suffers from lung cancer but is unable to tell that to Akki since that news would break him. Amitabh is also the owner of Archies and wants Akki to get into that business, but he wants to become a filmstar. Due to some circumstances, Akki gets thrown out of the house and he now he has to find a job and also look after a pregnant Priyanka. Slowly the rift between father and son widens and leads to the climax.
Even though the story seems that it is a highly emotional film with too much dramabaazi and rona dhona, it is exactly the opposite. The comedy in this film is outstanding. Boman Irani and Rajpal Yadav are just hilarious. Even the scenes between Boman and Amitabh are really funny. Its one the funniest movies in recent times. There is ofcourse some rona-dhona, but there is no melodrama. The director has done outstanding job here. He could have made it a *weepy* movie, but it has lots of light moments and every1 will enjoy the humour. Also, I really liked the songs - Apne Jahanke, Miraksam and the holi song.
Going by the BO, this seems to be the fourth straight hit of Akki and Priyanka. Akki must be on some cloud these days as he is also the Mumbai distributor of this film where it earned like 2.1 crores in the 1st week !!
This is a must see. It has something for every1.
