i always use Am for everything...and i asked ma mate da other day when do you use Im then??? she goes i dont have one idea!!! (how did she get a A and B in her English GCSE i dont know lool)
i knw am stupid and i have no idea how da hell i got accepted in Sixth Form as well with a stupid brain like mines lool
ohh well i never thought it was imp untill it started doing ma head in and now i want 2 knw...

I am is the proper way. Am is kind of the slang way.

thats the proper way.
u can say "am" if you'd like. a lotta ppl say it. there's no law against it. but it's not correct.
oh and speaking of grammar...just a little side note...i must tell you...u can't say "mines" in the context that u use it in..
you can say it like:
mine + is = mine's
ex. "Mine's better than yours!"
you can't say:
"i don't know what to do with this shirt of mines"

yeah yer rite dania, "am" is a word..but only if you put "I" in front of it..well, i cant think of any context that u'd use it by itself..maybe u can...hmm.....i just cant think of an example right now...
the reason why we dont usually use i'm and there's in essays is because when we're writting formal essays, it makes em unformalishy..lol..yes, of course thats a word! :D
u prolly already know all this...so i shall get back to my hmwk :D lol
