Jamshedpur, April 9: The famed Indian batting line up failed miserably while chasing a huge total, allowing Pakistan to reduce the lead in the six match ODI series to 2-1 with three matches to go.
Chasing a target of 320, India lost early wickets, and except for Irfan Pathan who made a fighting 64, and Kaif, who made 43, none of the other batsmen stayed long at the crease to make a substantial contribution. India were dismissed for 213 with more than eight overs left.
Some lusty hitting by Pathan and Zaheer at the end of the innings made the total look presentable, but the match was over as a contest much before that. Rana Naved-ul-Hassan was the hero for the Pakistanis, taking 6-27.
India needed a good start, but both the Indian openers were dismissed in quick succession. In the second over, Virender Sehwag was caught by Shahid Afridi off the bowling of Naved-ul-Hasan for 2. In the next over, Mohammad Sami had Sachin Tendulkar caught by Younis Khan for 6.

Ahmedabad, April 12: Pakistan have levelled the six-match one-day series 2-2 after beating India by three wickets in the fourth match at Ahmedabad today.
Set a target of 315 in a match reduced to 48 overs, Pakistan achieved their target off the last ball of the match.
Captain Inzamam-ul Haq was not out on 60 and Mohammed Sami was unbeaten on 8.
The match ended in a close finish after two quick run outs reduced Pakistan to 295 for seven after 44 overs.
In the 44th over Kamran Akmal was run out for 10. Younis Khan was run out in the 42nd over for 7 runs.
Brisk start
The visitors got off to a brisk start after India had made 315 for six in 48 overs.
Shahid Afridi scored freely before being caught by Sachin Tendulkar off the bowling of Laxmipathy Balaji. He made a quickfire 40 off 23 balls.
Pakistan were 107 for two when opener Salman Butt was trapped leg before wicket by Murali Kaarthik for 48.
Abdul Razzaq and Shoaib Malik put on 76 runs for the third wicket.
Tendulkar struck off the first ball of the 29th over when he had Razzaq caught by Kaarthik for 44 runs.
The fourth wicket partnership between Inzamam-ul Haq and Malik yielded 70 runs before Malik was out in the 39th over.
Pakistan lost their fifth wicket when Yousuf Youhana was out in the 40th over. He was caught by Laxmipathy Balaji off the bowling of Zaheer Khan for 11.

Tendulkar slams ton
Earlier, a century by Sachin Tendulkar helped India score 315 for six from their allotted 48 overs.
It was Tendulkar's 38th ODI century and his fourth against Pakistan. Tendulkar's innings was the anchor around which India piled up the massive score.
Yuvraj Singh played a cameo towards the end of the innings, scoring an unbeaten 35 off 26 balls.
India won the toss and elected to bat. Sachin and Virender Sehwag were off to a flying start. In the 11th over, Sehwag was run out for 29.
Sachin and M S Dhoni then shared a 129-run partnership for the second wicket. Dhoni was caught behind by Kamran Akmal off Shoaib Malik's bowling for 47.
Dhoni's dismissal brought skipper Sourav Ganguly at the crease. Continuing with his bad form, Ganguly struggled for 33 balls for his 18 runs before being run out in the 41st over.
Tendulkar was bowled by Shoaib Malik for 123 in the 42nd over. His 130-ball innings included 12 fours and two sixes.
Rahul Dravid was out for 19. Mohammad Kaif was bowled by Mohammad Sami in the penultimate over of the match for 5.

Pakistan had retained the same team, which won the third one-dayer at Jamshedpur. India had made two changes.

The start of play was delayed by an hour due to damp spots on the pitch. The match, scheduled to begin at 9 am (IST), started at 10 am.

Afridi blitz blows India away
Kanpur, April 15: Shahid Afridi, who has hit the fastest fifty in one day internationals, hit the second fastest one, in 45 balls, as Pakistan thrashed India by 5 wickets to take the lead in the six match ODI series.
The opener hit 102 before he was bowled by Harbhajan Singh but by the time he departed, there was only one team in the match. Due to Afridi's blitz, the run rate was never an issue for the batsmen coming dow the order. The win came with more than seven overs to spare.
For India, Kumble, who was hit for 22 runs in his first over by Afridi, took two wickets while Sachin, Harbhajan and Sehwag managed one each. Every bowler, with the exception of Zaheer Khan, was taken apart by Afridi.
Earlier, stand-in captain Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Kaif struck fifties to rescue India from a dismal start and guide them to 249 for six in their 50 overs.
Dravid top-scored with 86 and local hero Kaif made 78 after paceman Naved Rana reduced India, who had elected to bat with the series tied at 2-2, to 59 for four.
The Indian duo shared in a 135-run fifth wicket partnership, surpassing their own mark of 118 for that wicket achieved against Pakistan in Karachi last year.
