im anxiously waitin for this album to release..

Sonu Nigam was here in Denmark for d first time to do a concert.so,how cud i miss dat..
the concert was just brilliant..Sonu Nigam is d best live singer on dis earth along with Adnan Sami n Atif..
he sang more than 50 songs..
and more than 22 in first half in a row..dats amazing!!
when he sang SUN ZARA frm LUCKY.d crowd went crazy.he sang it beautifully!!
he also sang 'dheere jalne' frm PAHELI and many many other gr8 songs..like tera jadu chal gaya,ik bewafa hai,kal ho na ho,saathiya....

concert was over at 12..
then i had dinner wid SONU :)there were also otha ppl,who were there for d dinner..bt not too much..
i cudnt believe it i was sitting right beside him n talking to him..
i talkd wid him for like 2 hrs..and i requested him to sing DHEERE JALNA again..its awesum!!
then he had to leave for Norway..so he went frm d hall..

i just love dat concert..it was anawesum..
its d best day of my life..it was better than when i went to n met Atif Aslam or JAL..

If journey of Sonu Nigam as a singer has to be described in short, it would be in three simple words – Deewana, Jaan and Yaad – the three private albums by Sonu Nigam that capitulated him to an envious position he is in today. Though there were some private albums by him prior to these as well but these were the three albums that worked wonders for his career. The result is that today each of the three albums are mentioned in the same breathe whenever one mentions about Sonu Nigam. Hallmark of all the above-mentioned albums has been very strong melody, which combined with Sonu's silky vocals went on to top the charts. Now with Sonu also making his debut as a music director, expectations are obviously sky high from ' Chanda Ki Doli '. Though Sonu's singing skills are unparalleled, entire film fraternity and music lovers have waited with bated breaths to witness Sonu's prowess as a musician. Nusrat Badr writes for the entire album that is expected to be another soft'n'melodious journey. Does CKD turn out to be another feather in the cap for Sonu? Read on...

Title song ' Chanda Ki Doli ' sets the right mood of the album with everything being top class - whether it is Sonu's vocals that are simply enchanting, lyrics that are outstanding and music that is hauntingly mesmerizing. A complete winner in all departments, it is one of those tracks that would have made waves even if released as a 'single' rather than part of an entire album. The love song has a hint of sadness gelled with it that makes it an interesting hearing. Easily one of the best tracks sung by Sonu, it is what one calls a 'quality' song.

' Rafta-Rafta Nazar ' is a complete opposite of the title song and takes a dance track route. A number that could easily be placed in a movie during a 'ched-chaad' sequence, it is a fine entertainer with fast paced music and continuous beats. Situation wise it is nothing unique or outstanding but for a good time pass track (that could be elevated with a well made video), it doesn't disappoint.

Album returns back to romantic mood with ' Paagal Hoon Main ' that has a lovely rhythm attached to it as well. Sonu sounds like a man thoroughly in love while rendering this track that is aimed at captivating the hearts of teenagers. Both lyrics and music make the song memorable. Don't be too surprised with girls swooning over him all the way after the release of the song's music video.

' Mujhe Tumse Milke Kehna Hai ' continues the mood of romance that was somehow disrupted by initial appearance of ' Rafta Rafta '. Including ' Mujhe Tumse Milke Kehna Hai ' and barring ' Rafta Rafta ', all the three songs are in the same mode as one expected at the very beginning of the album. And we are not even comparing the songs with the three hit albums of the past as CKD so far delivers what was promised. Another soft melodious track in the soft vocals of Sonu, it carries the album forward.

A song about 'you, you and only you', ' Tu ' indulges in appreciation for one's sweetheart. Accompanied by cheers of people around as if the song is being sung in a party, ' Tu ' has a dash of jazz thrown in. Not as strong as the earlier three melodies, it still turns out to be decent enough to be completely ignored.

There is an entry of a new sound in the album with ' Chale Jao ', which is the first bonafide pop track in the album. A foot tapping track targeted at the teenage campus crowds, it has a zingy feel that automatically finds your neck too in motion in quick time. A perfect highway song suited for a long drive in the night. You are going to love it! And this is exactly the reason why this is the first (and the only) song in the album that appears in a faster version remixed by Akbar Sami. Unlike conventional remixes, it doesn't just contain added beats to make the number appear more hip. In fact there is pacy singing and added props (both in terms of singing and music) that make it a potential chartbuster.

Simple lyrics are what make ' Tumne Mohabbat Ki ' worth humming around. A track that touches alternative nodes during its entire duration, it turns out to be another decent affair that adds value to the overall album by maintaining a consistent feel. ' Tu Hi Bata ' is one of the top tracks in the album that comes up quite late in the album. Another love song, it keeps the album steady on the journey of heart-warming love. Last track 'Rehne De' is successful in maintaining a clean record for this album that is, as expected earlier, rich in melody.

Sonu Nigam displays his various shades in singing once again with ' Chanda Ki Doli ' that re-establishes the belief that he is THE most versatile singer around. After being around for more than a decade, he for sure knows what works and what doesn't and this is something that stands out after hearing 10 tracks in CKD.

To answer a question raised in the beginning: Yes, there is an added feather in the cap for Sonu Nigam, now with him donning a musician's cap as well!
